Almost here

But before i get back for good let me just share some pictures from my April's favourite editorial.
It's from the Dutch edition of the L'Officiel and it was what made me buy the maganize, which i didn't know before but i ended up finding really INSPIRING when it comes to styling. Beastyful, isn't it? ;)

Isn't this just beastyful?

Isabelle Lueen via Fashionistable

It's not because the girl is beautiful (but, still, she is!!). It's because the out-of-the-box way of dressing. It's because it's surprisingly creative. It's because it doesn't fit definitions, it is a definition itself. It's because it's not the typical girlish thing. It's because she's dressed for the real winter: full of clothes and yet cool and fresh. Isn't this just great?

Perfection blah

Everyone talks about perfection is the fashion art/business. But for me perfection in a girl is this:

Every look is helpless if he hasn't a brain under (in) it.

Every look is helpless if he hasn't a brain under (in) it.
Fashion for me is much more than looks. It's about ideas. It's about some kind of statement you do want to make (or you do not want to make at all). Either way you're always saying something, there's always some kind of visual message that gets to people, even if you want noone to notice you. Of course noone can know us just for the clothes we're wearing but it is a kind of beggining of some kind of communication. Because it is a part of the whole. A visible part. Yes, I know that the essencial is invisible to the eyes but I also like the non-essencial parts of life. It's like: I can perfectly survive without never drinking any beer ou wine or without eating chocolate. But life wouldn't be half the fun, half the pleasure, would it? For some people what one wears plays an important role on daily life, for others not or not at all. For some people clothing is a burden they have to carry, for others it is a creative way of expressing themselves, for others is a way of getting to a certain status, for others it is a way to belong to some kind of group, for others it isn't a worthwhile issue to loose time on thinking about, for others it is something irritating and futile. It can be anything, it only depends on the perspective of the viewer. It is not consensual. And that's what interesting about it. But then again:
Every look is helpless if he hasn't a brain under (in) it. If it has or not you cannot notice in just a few gazes. You always have to go further. The look is only the beggining of something, that's why you're done if you're just looking into the mirror.

The shoes of the beast

Usually, the more colourful the shoes, the beastier they are considered.
But if you actually walk on the beasty side of fashion you maybe like these.

I just think they are superb.

I'm so into the beast thing

Giles Deacon S/S 2012
Would you believe if i told you this would be a perfect dress for me to get married in?
It is a really symbolic dress. You have the white for purity (purity from the soul) and the red for blood. And the blood relates to something which is alive, which has life within itself, which is independent. And that's the opposite from the submissive bride dressed all-in-white.
So there you have, the beastier side is where i stand most of the times.

O mundo está perdido.

The White Drama

There you go, as we say in portuguese, white to "give and sell". I've just came up with a word to address these creations, and that is beastyful. It's not just beautiful - that would be boring - it's more than that. It has that touch of genious that turn things exciting, which has to do with the excess, the ugly, the contraditory, the ackward. With not letting things in the beauty side too much. Comme des Garçon, a beauty and the beast kind of brand. And here's some of what Rei Kawakubo has proposed for S/S 2012.

(just notice there's no high heels, there's no sexy thing, there's no red lipstick, there's no feminine steryotipes)
