Cast Iron
Those who decided not to go to the Cast Iron show in AFW because it is a ready-to-wear denim brand should regret that decision.
First of all: it was a true show completely embeded by its concept "The knights of the 21st century". The music was perfect to create impact and the whole idea of denim 21st century soldiers is really interesting.
Second: I saw there the most beautiful men I've seen in ages. No baby faces. Just beared man with a rough look. The fashion world's awake to beared man is too late but it is wellcome anyaway.
And last: there was an "old" man modelling in the catwalk (hello, advanced style!). And whenever he got on stage people went crazy with applauses. Real people are getting into the catwalk. I like that.
The clothes are ok (casual, ready-to-wear that we usually see in fast fashion stores as it seemed) but the styling was great. Took some pics, but i'm posting these from Team Peter Stigter first, which are far better.
And just check out the Team Peter Stigter site. It is a great source of fashion information.

Sweet kind of monster
I decided to go kinda beauty beastin' to AFW.
In what sense, would you then ask? Well, in an obvious manner, I would reply.
I didn't go into the beastiful thing but then i wore my fur* to look like a litle monster. Even if all i got was a sweet kind of monster look (which, as Miuccia Prada said, is a terrible word in fashion).
I don't have my dear photographer with me so all you got is this - he's the only one who can really capture the monster's beauty actually :) - but he'll be on my way soon.
*fake, fake, fake, of course

Dutch designers|Viktor & Rolf
I didn't know Viktor & Rolf were Dutch. Now i'm aware they met while studying Fashion at Arnhem Academy of Art and Design, here in The Netherlands. And these two do the kind of work i just stick immediately to. Wikipedia says they gained attention for their artistic, concept-driven catwalk presentations.
Here's what V&R proposed for this 11 A/W season, a great example of what their work is all about.
In the backstage of this collection people could read you are a soldier in the Viktor and Rolf Army, an army to fight for beauty! This is a romantic point of view but the nice thing is that they opposed it a quite strong look in the collection, inspired in middle-age soldiers. And that's exactly what moves me on The Beauty & The Beast, that delicate line between the beautiful and the horrible that turns everything exciting and non-obvious.

Shops & showcases
One of the brilliant things in Amsterdam are the shops showcases (can we say it like that?). The owners are absolutely creative about them and in each street there is a mixture between design and organization and weird, absurd, bizarre, kitsch and fantasy in showcases. Some are really tidy and monocromatic and others are very imaginative, full of colours. Here are some details.
